The HPE Storage Rack-mount Kits (formerly known as HPE StoreEver Rack-mount Kits) provide a high-density, rack-mountable tape drive solution for SAS backup and archiving applications in a 1U rack-mount kit. The 1U HPE StoreEver Rack-mount Kit accommodates up to two half-height internal SAS tape drives with a maximum capacity of 90 TB (2.5:1 compression) using two HPE StoreEver LTO-9 Ultrium 45000 drives.

HPE Storage LTO Ultrium Tape Drives (formerly known as HPE StoreEver LTO Ultrium Tape Drives) represent nine generations of linear tape open (LTO) technology capable of storing up to 45 TB¹ per cartridge, with hardware data encryption, with linear tape file system (LTFS) for ease of use at an unprecedented performance. Data hardware encryption using AES 256-bit provides easy-to-enable security to protect the most sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access of tape cartridges. LTFS is an open format for storing data on tape that makes LTO generation 5 and later tapes self-describing and file-based. Capable of data transfer rates up to 300 MB/s native, the data rate matching further helps optimize performance by matching host system speed to keep drives streaming, thus enabling a faster tape performance.

The HPE Storage MSL3040 Tape Library is a scalable, modular data protection solution designed for SMB to mid-sized environments. It starts with a fully functional 3U base unit that can be equipped with up to three drives and operates as a compact yet powerful backup and archival system. From there, it can scale up to 48U with expansion modules, supporting up to 640 cartridges and 48 half-height LTO tape drives for up to 28.8 PB of compressed storage. The Spectra TFinity Plus Tape Library delivers up to 45 exabytes (EB) of proven storage density packaged in a small footprint and offers scalability and speed to meet the requirements of the most demanding environments. Additional flexibility is provided through support of mixed media, both Linear Tape-Open (LTO) technology and TS11xx technology, in the same library. Customers can also access and migrate data from legacy Oracle® T10000 media to both technologies. Using LTO technology, it can expand from 50 to 56,400 slots for 4.3 EB of compressed data. Using TS1170 technology, the library can expand from 45 to 42,930 slots for 6.45 EB of 3:1 compressed data. The tape library can support up to 168 drives with transfer rates of 241.9 TB per hour (725.8 TB per hour compressed) using TS1170 technology.
